christmas 2012

We spent Christmas this year in Houston with my family, my Grandma Ilene flew down from Montana, and my brother Chris and Sis-in-Law Amanda flew over from El Paso to joins us! We had a great time together, playing games, watching movies in the media room w/popcorn, making gingerbread houses, looking at model homes, going to the temple, and eating yummy food. I especially loved having Amanda at the house, it felt like I really had a sister to talk to and hang out with:) I always wanted a sister growing up, so I'm glad my brother married someone that can be my sister whenever we get together.

Kyle and I took some Christmas pictures this year and sent out our very first Christmas card!

2012 wrap-up

i have not been very good about blogging since moving to texas! so i decided to just try and sum up what we've done since i stopped blogging, this is pretty much everything up until christmas,  here goes:

before we left choteau (back in july) me and kyle hiked up to hidden lake, a family favorite, it was beautiful and we even saw a couple billy goats! they came within a just few feet of us, they got so close i was getting a little scared they would charge!

after our hike we got ice cream with my wonderful cousin katie

and then katie took a picture of me and kyle in her backyard, pretty huh?

from choteau, me, kyle, and my parents headed to worland, wyoming to spend a few days with my aunt and uncle and cousins who live there. while i didn't get any pictures, we had sure had a great visit there, we golfed, saw brave, went to a hot springs water park, and played lots of ticket to ride (my new fav game!)

then we drove down to cheyenne wyoming where we were able to go to lunch with my cousin holly and her little girl emma, and then we were able to have a fun dinner with my other cousin quincy, his wife monica and their baby jack--it was great getting to see so much of our extended family!

from wyoming we headed to santa fe, new mexico!
it was absolutely gorgeous and we had a fun tour around the town seeing some of the amazing art and scultptures

then on to el paso!
where we were able to stay at my brother and sis-in-law's new house!
my parents took off the next day, but me and kyle stayed for another day of fun. amanda gave us a tour of her medical school, then we drove along the border highway--seriously mexico is right there, we could see their shacks, and roads and buses and people. Chris and Amanda also took us for mexican food at the cutest little new mexican town just 30 mins away. it was great to spend some more time with them!
in august me and kyle celebrated our 2nd anniversary! to start off the day we headed south to galveston where we had a delicious lunch and then hit the beach

before heading off to dinner on our 2nd anniversary

galveston beach on our 2nd anniversary!
although it was fun to see the ocean, the galveston beach isn't very scenic with its brown water and oil rigs. the day we went was super windy and there was a red tide which meant hundreds of dead and decaying fish were washed up on the beach, with hordes of seagulls picking at them--yuck!

my best friend chelsea got married in august, and even though i moved to her HOME TOWN, she chose to get married in utah. because of the timing i wasn't able to attend the actual wedding, but because i now live in her home town, she came to katy a week later for a reception down here so I still got to celebrate with her!

for labor day weekend me and kyle headed up to fort worth to spend some time with kyle's family and while we were there we checked out the historical stock yards. it was a lot of fun walking around the old stock yards and we even got to witness a shoot-out!

on halloween i turned 25! to celebrate i took the day off work got a massage in the morning and then me and kyle headed to downtown houston for some birthday lunch

instead of the traditional birthday cake, i opted to pick up some delicious goodies from a local french bakery. so good.

my favorite patient came to visit me at work!

for thanksgiving we once again headed north to fort worth, and while there we went to on a tour of cowboy's stadium--kyle's fav nfl team!

all of kyle's family right after the big meal!

right now at my church i hold activities for the 8-11 year old girls twice a month, so right before thanksgiving we played thanksgiving themed games and made candy turkeys, its a ton of fun hanging out with these girls twice a month!
