Money Matters

Along with all the goodies in the Easter basket my parents gave us, they also included this book! The Total Money Makeover. Me and Kyle read the entire thing within 2 days, we loved it!! Its not a book on how to get rich, but on how to manage the money you do have. How to be smart with your money and build financial security. I definitely recommend it: so buy a copy, check it out from the library, or borrow a friend's, and get financially fit!

Last weekend while my parents were in town we also went to the biggest man-made pit in the world! Kennecott Copper Mine! It was actually pretty neat and it really is HUGE!

This past weekend while my family was in town we went to the tulip festival! It was a nice day and the grounds & flowers at Thanksgiving Point were gorgeous! I just wish it would get a little warmer and sunnier outside so it actually felt like spring!

Double the Easter

I have always LOVED Easter! Wearing my new Easter dress to church, competing with my brothers to find the easter eggs that my parents hid around the house, and of course CANDY! This Easter my parents were in town for my brother's graduation and my always thoughtful father dropped off an Easter basket for me and Kyle early this morning before they headed back up to Canada. It included fruit, a dvd, chocolate bunny, a small basketball hoop, and of course candy!

I had also planned a small easter egg hunt for Kyle. A couple weeks ago I found this awesome BIG egg on sale. It had a medium egg inside of it, with a smaller egg inside of that one. So I filled the three eggs with our favorite treats and hid them around the apartment for Kyle to find this morning.

Our morning excitement was followed by church, where we got to focus on the resurrection of Christ and celebrate his atoning sacrifice. Overall, it was a wonderful, treat-filled day. Happy Easter Everyone!
Our Easter Treats! Notice how big the orange eggs are!!

This is where we put our basketball hoop--it makes shower time so much more fun!

Graduations

I have been a college graduate just over a week now and I couldn't be happier! After three years at BYU and two years at dental hygiene school I was more than ready to be done. It was a long and difficult journey but I have learned so much these past 5 years and I am so grateful for the experiences and opportunities I have had. I sometimes doubted that I would make it, but I did it! and I am so thankful for my wonderful family and their support as well as great friends and my wonderful husband-i love you baby! (it was awesome being married my last year of school--I got so much more sleep!)

                                                        Graduation Day!

Andrea! We became best friends our last year because we went to school with each other every day, we were in the same clinic group AND we worked together on the weekends, we pretty much saw each other every single day and it was awesome! She helped me get through this last, stressful, crazy year, and helped me have some fun along the way!!

                                                           LOVE HIM!!

My wonderful parents (thanks mom for telling me to go into dental hygiene--you're the reason this day happened!)

The fam. My big brother Chris, his wife Amanda, lover, mom, and dad

My wonderful in-laws were also in town for the big day, it was great having their support at my graduation ceremony, but somehow I didn't get any pictures with them. However, they left me something better to remember them by--a brand new kindle! I love to read so it was the perfect graduation gift!

                                                               I DID IT!!!

This is my older brother Chris

We've done a lot of things together over the years. We grew up together, we went to junior high together, we went to high school together, we both went to BYU (we even took a class together there), we both started dating people from the Dallas/Fort Worth area (they literally live 10mins apart in Texas) He got engaged to his Texas girl in April last year, so a month later I got engaged to my Texas boy. Chris got married at the end of June, Kyle and I got married in August. I graduated with my bachelors on April 14, and a week later Chris graduated with his bachelors degree! Our next step is to have babies at the same time in the future!(we'll see if that one works out!!)

It was fun to go through the college adventure together. And it was great to have our family in town for both graduations and stretch the party out even further!

Chris' graduation in the Marriot. He graduated from the school of business management. I literally saw so many people I knew at this graduation, including my best friend, her parents and finance, a friend from dental hygiene school, a couple friends who were also graduating, a girl from my ward, a girl from my old ward, and my cousin and her adorable baby!

The sibs. Me, Chris, and my younger brother Nik who will also be graduating from high school in about a month!

Me and Chris and our Texas spouses! Our future plans include all us eventually moving down there!
I love you Chris! YAY for graduation!!

Arches

This past weekend we headed down to Monticello for a reunion with Kyle's family. It was great to get to know his family better, relax, and eat some good food! On Saturday we were able to go to Arches, I'd never been there before so it was fun to see the different arches and hike around a bit. It would be fun to go back someday and hike the "delicate arch' or the "fiery furnace" which looked pretty intense!

me, my hubby, and his hilarious grandpa

Standing underneath Sand Arch! There really was a ton of sand here, and there were a ton of families with their little buckets and shovels building sandcastles like we were at the beach!

we had fun climbing around and exploring!

New Life, New Blog

I just graduated from college, and with more time on my hands I decided it was time I started one of these so I can stay in touch with friends and family! We'll see how it goes...
