when i was a teenager i loved blasting this song, especially while driving! me and my friends would roll down the windows and rock out on the air guitar. and every time somebody turns 23 this is still the first thing that pops into my head, and yesterday Kyle turned 23!!

we started the festivities the night before with some takeout costa vida (mmm smothered pork burrito) and the mavericks game. that night Kyle also received a mavericks shirt from his parents along with some birthday mulah! and some more birthday mulah from his in-laws who called him "a keeper" in their birthday card to him. i agree mom and dad!


on friday Kyle woke up a 23yr old man and headed off to his morning classes. after school we headed to the mall where we spent some of that birthday money on some new summer clothes and shoes.


then it was time for his birthday dinner. we headed to pizza factory (a very Poulsen choice according to our friends) where we met up with Zak, Dallas, Sarah, Elisa, JR, and Staci (who was also celebrating a birthday this week).

dinner was great! i love hawaiian pizza, but Kyle hates it, so we never get it. but pizza factory does mini pizzas so i was able to get my own personal hawaiian pizza--yum!

after dinner we hung out for a bit and then we all headed to the chocolate for some dessert!  the cazooki rocked!

although the party was over, today we kept the fun going with a soccer game at noon. kyle's team won!
 so far they are undefeated, and Kyle scored some sweet goals--like always!

and later in the afternoon Kyle was able to sport some of his new summer clothes as we finaaaaaaaly got some spring weather again when the sun came out and the temperature rose to 70 degrees! Kyle is the treasurer of the BYU pre-PA club so we attended their opening social at rock canyon park, where we ate, met some new people, and played a fun game of bocce ball!
