Its Love

This morning me and Kyle had church in the Marriott Center. As we walked up to the building, I couldn't help remembering that it was just over 4 years ago that Kyle and I shared our first kiss under a tree right outside that very building. The memory took me on a little nostalgic trip...

Kyle and I were fresh out of high-school 18yr olds when we met at BYU in 2006. We both lived in the Helaman dorms, we were in the same ward, and we had a big group of friends that we hung out with all year. I was attracted to Kyle right away, and after some football and cuddling, Kyle became attracted to me too and we casually dated the last couple months of winter semester.

It was not a serious relationship. We both knew Kyle was leaving at the end of the semester and I sat right next to him as he opened his mission call and read aloud that he would be spending the next two years in Tahiti, serving the Lord. So we just had fun together, we did not say the L word, and neither us got very attached. Or so I thought...

A week or two after Kyle left I realized I was much more attached than I had thought. I was just NOT getting over this boy. And it wasn't long after that, that I was convinced that I loved him and that we were destined to be together.

Well, down in Texas Kyle was NOT thinking the same thing. After a couple weeks he was over it and blew me off so he could prepare for his upcoming mission to Tahiti. We fell out of touch pretty quickly and I never told Kyle how I felt, or that I was already planning our future wedding.

Kyle left for Tahiti in August and as the months went by my feelings remained the same. I dated other guys and tried not to think about Kyle too much, but that didn't stop me from telling my friends and family (half-jokingly) that I was going to marry him in August 2010.

In August 2009 Kyle got home from his mission. Back at BYU, our group of friends reunited and so did me and Kyle. We were back together within a month. We dated all year, got engaged in May, and on August 14, 2010 my early planning paid off and we were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.

What can I say? I love this boy! He's the best part of my life, the best husband I could have ever asked for, and now he's my best friend. He's perfect for me in every way and I couldn't be happier!
