babies and baking

is how i spend my time. visiting friends who just had babies, going to baby showers, and attending mother's group in my ward. and when i'm not doing that i'm usually in the kitchen. in the past couple weeks i've made all kinds of new things: flautas, homemade bread, ravioli with sauteed asparagus & walnuts, curried apple sweet potato soup, hummus, maple-frosted cinnamon rolls, homemade mac n cheese, italian sausage & white bean bake, ricotta ice cream, homemade pizza, cold sesame noodle salad and English oven-fried fish n chips to name a few.

however, because all i have is free time these days, i've also watched several red box movies, started sewing a dress, read a bunch of books, stalked about 100 blogs, and created me and kyle's sims family. oh yes. right now we have a teenage son named Vans and a younger daughter Emme. Vans is best friends with Ursula but dating Wanda. Emme is friends with a boy named Patel, and Kyle is 6 days away from becoming an old man. ha

i also watched the first episode of the bachlorette and oh my! Bentley is the biggest jerk, a grade A douche bag, and he's mormon. thanks for representing our church so well. between him and Michelle Money bachelor fans must have the worst opinion of us.

also i just (as in 20mins ago) watched a show on TLC where a seven and half month pregnant woman was shot at through her apartment door. one of the bullets hit her stomach and actually hit the baby. so she was rushed to the hospital where they did an emergency c-section, fortunately the bullet went through the baby's butt and even tho he was 6 weeks early he lived. but poor kid, shot before he was even born!

aaaanyway luckily i should be getting my license any day now so I can finally start working and using some of my time a little more productively!

  1. This post seriously cracks me up! :) I totally understand the whole too much free time thing...it's ridiculous the things you can come up with to do! Just enjoy it while you got it though!!
